Current assignments and projects:
Video Yearbook Unit
• Students will work on putting together the 2014-15 Sky Islands Video Yearbook during the next several weeks. The Video Yearbook will have a theme (yet to be determined) and will be organized chronologically this year. There will be photos and videos as well as a rich and diverse soundtrack.
Schedule for the week:
May 11-15 > Students will be finishing up the 2014-15 Video Yearbook, including a senior section that will be shown at graduation on May 21st. Free DVD copies of the Video Yearbook will be available on Thursday May 21st as well.
April 20-24 > We will continue to work on the 2015 Video Yearbook.
April 13-17 > Students will work on the video yearbook in pairs and with only 5 weeks left, students will be "putting the pedal to the metal". See below for more details about the video yearbook.
March 30-April 3 > Students will work on their individual assignments for editing the different segments of the Video yearbook. This year's theme (voted on by the student body) is Environmental Superhero. We will be creating either live-action or clay-mation sequences that tell a story with created characters throughout the length of the video.
March 23-27 > Students will organize the man-on-the-street interviews that they recorded last week of their fellow students. We will also decide on a theme for the video and start to organize all the photo and video clips recorded during the year.
March 17-20 > We will begin working on the video yearbook by having students interview their fellow students regarding the school year. One of the clever questions created by the class: "Can you name one principle of Japanese design?"
We will only meet on Thursday this week because of the long weekend.
March 9-12 > Students will be looking ahead to the Video Yearbook, which we will begin next week, by creating short (Wo)man-on-the-street interviews about the school year and about possible themes for this year's video. Here is a good resource for doing quality M.O.T.S. interviews.
March 2-6 > Students will begin working on (Wo)man-on-the-Street interviews after making final re-edits on their Personal Narratives on Monday. The narratives will be available soon on the Sky Islands Youtube channel.
Feb. 23-27 > Students will finish editing their personal narratives in iMovie and will review them in class before looking ahead to their next project, (Wo)man-on-the-Street interviews in preparation for the video yearbook work next quarter.
