Schedule for the Week:
May 14-18 > We will work on finishing the Autobiographical Comic Project, which is due Thurs. 5/17. The semester test will be on Thursday as well.
May 7-11 > We will finish watching "American Splendor" before beginning to work on the Autobiographical Comic Project. **Binder check on Thurs. 5/10** Semester test on Thurs. 5/17**
April 23-27 > Students will finish their pop art paintings before moving on to the Comic Drawing Unit.
April 16-20 > Students will be working on their Pop Art paintings.
April 9-13 > Students will work on their designs for the Pop Art project. See guidelines below.
April 4-6 > We will not have class this week because of state testing. Continue to look for everyday/common objects and images to use as subject matter for a pop art design.
March 26-30 > We will begin the Pop Art unit by looking at examples of pop art and by defining what it is and how it differs from other styles throughout the history of art. Click here for the Pop Art project guidelines.
March 19-23 > Students will be working on their Media Campaign presentations on Mon. 3/19. Presentations will be given on Wed. 3/21. Make sure to check the Media Campaign Project guidelines and rubrics handout for the presentation rubric.
March 5-9 > Students will work on their media campaign plans and presentations. The written 2 page plans and billboard designs are due Thursday 3/8. Click here for the Media Campaign Project guidelines and rubrics.
Feb. 26-March 2 > Students will be continue to work on developing their (main) message for their media campaign. We also will be designing a billboard as part of the larger visual nature of the campaign. Please come prepared to discuss your message and media campaign goals this week (starting on Monday).
Feb. 19-22 > We begin working on designing a billboard as well as finish their digital logo. For Mon. 2/19: bring in one example of a piece of designed material from a media campaign.
Feb. 12-16 > We wrap up the Logo Design project and transition to the Media Campaign unit where students will create a multi-media campaign for their cause-based organization they created for the Logo project. Due Monday 2/12: the typed, half-page description of their cause-based organization. ** Homework for Thursday 2/15: Bring in or sketch an example of graphic design from a media campaign. Hint: check your mailbox.**

Jan. 29-Feb. 2 > Students continue working on developing the cause-based organization that they will design a logo for.
We watch the film, Gasland as a way to look into an issue facing our world. Students are expected to decide which issue they will base their organization on by Thursday.

Jan. 16-19 > Students will work on their personal or family emblem designs. Final drafts are due on Thursday 1/18.
